In March 2014 the London Borough of Tower Hamlets granted St George planning permission to transform the 15 acres London Dock site in Wapping into a high quality mixed use development.

When complete London Dock will include 1,800 homes, 486 of which will be affordable; 210,000 sq ft of commercial space; six acres of public open realm; and land for a new secondary school for 1,200 pupils.

The Grade II Pennington Street Warehouse will be restored and brought back into use with an eclectic mix of retail, restaurants, galleries and offices.

The development marks a new chapter in the long history of the site, which has been closed to the public for more than 200 years.
